This week, the San Francisco 49ers revealed their nominee for one of the league’s most meaningful honors — a player whose leadership and compassion continue to define what it means to wear the red and gold.
That player is Christian McCaffrey, who has been officially nominated for the NFL’s Salute to Service Award, recognizing his extraordinary commitment to supporting veterans, active-duty members, and their families.

Jackson, 28, has battled injuries throughout his career — including prior concussions and soft-tissue issues — making this latest setback particularly concerning.
